If you enjoy volunteering and have an American Express card, you can now get reward points with their membership rewards program. According to their website, you could earn 500 reward points for every hour of volunteer work. Earn up to 10,000 points for doing charity work per year as long as the project is listed in the VolunteerMatch.org database. You can enter your zip code or keyword to best match your volunteering hours.
Make sure you log in membership rewards to register your hours worked to earn your points. You could also donate your points to charity. Volunteering is a wonderful thing; earning extra points is just icing on the cake. It’s nice to hear a feel good story with American Express instead of credit card companies taking advantage of the consumers.
